One of my favorites ways to buy art has been 20x200, which sadly has been on a bit of a hiatus for way too long. A huge chunk of our "collection" has come straight from 20x200, so I have really missed having it as a resource. Some (just some) of my favorite prints are from William Wegman, Joseph O. Holmes, Mathew Tischler, Jennifer Sanchez & Christian Chaize. Good news is, the 20x200 beta site has just launched as of yesterday at http://www.youshouldbuyart.com/ so you can in fact buy some art from 20x200 even while waiting for the official relaunch. The full site is hopefully coming up very soon with new artists & editions slated to begin releasing in early 2014. Sign up here to be kept up to date on their impending re-opening or head over to the beta site to buy works from Todd McLellan, Christian Chaize, William Wegman (including the print above), Jennifer Sanchez, Jenny Odell, Jason Polan, Lisa Congdon, Joseph O Holmes and quite a few more . In the meantime here are a few other handy sources for art outside the gallery to tide us over:
serena & lily's art collection: a nice selection of artists ranging from smaller prints to larger pieces. A few of my favorites are Sara Westover, Michelle Armas, Rob Delamater & Karen Smidth (work from the last 2 artists shown above).
Etsy: Etsy is a sea full of great art option ranging from simple, modern prints to fabulous, abstract oil paintings, not to mention all of those great vintage pieces. Just a few of my favorites are shown above.
Another super option is West Elm, a former 20x200 collaborator, West Elm currently includes not only many beautiful special editions from current artists, but it's own array of prints that are quite pleasing. And check out both their catalog & blog for featured Etsy artists. I love many, many many of the Minted for & Framed print editions from artists including David Dauncey, Sean Jacobs, Laura Gunn, Benjamin Arnot, Genna Cowsert and Naomi Ernest. A few samples are show below, but there are many more available on the site.
