I've said this before, but I love Marc Jacobs, always, so it's not a surprise that I do love this Marc by Marc Jacobs collection. I'm always happiest when Marc Jacobs leans a bit more to the vintage and this collection does just that with a sort of 40's meets 70's aesthetic wrapped up in Mr. Jacob's beautiful sense of cut, color, texture, pattern and detail. I can always appreciate the feel and overall aesthetic of each of Marc Jacobs collections, but I don't always have an urge to wear them. This collection is highly wearable and very appealing. Reem Acra is of course, very elegantly chic with beautiful ladylike silhouettes, draping that floats and enough edge to it that you'd feel confidently sophisticated in any of these pieces. A great mix of texture and sparkle. Also adding a bit of edge, Vera Wang presented a fabulous collection of artfully shaped clothes that offer a very wearable slouchy sophistication. The oversized prints at the end were not my favorites, but each piece in the collection offers a beautifully constructed sense of functional, yet glamorous cool- high style tweaked with a bit of edgy, rock & roll.
The hardest part of Fashion Week in NY, be it Fall or Spring, is that there is always so much to see, so much to love and never enough time to get through it all. I'm going to do my best to pull videos of as many collections as I can, but I'm also going to be pinning and adding as much as possible to our tumblr as well, to try to keep up.
