What's new at IKEA: the new IKEA 365+ & NIPPRIG collections

IKEA NIPPRIG 2015

IKEA NIPPRIG 2015

Not only is are all of the usual summer and outdoor releases popping into your local IKEA right now, but a whole huge slew of fabulous new items are rolling in as well. A few weeks ago I did a piece on buying new dinnerware. My plan was to buy the IKEA 365 collection, but it was pretty much absent from the store at the time. The reason was that the new updated collection was in the works and it's now here. These feldspar porcelain basics, glassware & cooking pieces have been updated to add all sorts of new user-friendly features, such as angled sides on the plates to make them fit better in your hand (or to help keep dinner off the sofa), cute little fitted cork coasters for the mugs, plates that will hold your sandwich and your drink, great  for eating at your desk or while entertaining. These lovely stackable, sturdy, hard-wearing pieces will look great on your shelves or on your table. Prices for these great pieces remain amazingly low.

Now for one of my favorites special collections of the year, the NIPPRIG collection (though I'm looking forward to the Ilse Crawford collection too). These pieces are handmade from sustainable materials by local craftspeople in Vietnam and Indonesia and designed by IKEA designer, Nike Karrlson. Materials include water hyacinth, bamboo, coconut, seagrass, rattan & banana. The collection includes a wide range of pieces from hats, brooms & floor cushions to chairs, rugs and baskets. The prices are great too, with the striped storage box at $16.99, beach bags at $3.99 & $4.99, the gorgeous armchairs (love the green) at $49.00 and the rugs ranging from $9.99 to $39.99

These 2 collections are really just the beginning. There are so many more April releases to look for including the CHARMTROLL & STICKAT (LOVE this one) collections for children, the beautiful MÖCKELBY dining tables, HOPPVALS cordless pleated blinds (which we really need many of actually) and the TYNGEN bathroom collection. More details & image to follow soon.
